The kindness of friends and family
‘Stuff Happens’ is happening tomorrow at the Old Fire Station in Mayton Street from 2pm as part of Islington Exhibits.
Thank you to everyone who dropped off donations for my ‘Readymade’ Jumble Sale – the next tricky bit will be not keeping these objects for myself. Also, thank you Dad for dashing out at half an hour’s notice to my flat on Thursday morning to wait in for a delivery of 11 extra wide MDF doors. Double thanks for carrying them up the stairs on your own. And thank you Mum for stepping in next Tuesday to hang my drawings as part of the final installation for the show. As this involves tapping 616 16mm pins into 154 drawings, it will be a very long day.
If you think all of this sounds as if I am getting off easy, then the sore shoulders that I have from carrying a 10 litre tub of paint from Leyton to Canonbury and the blister on my right hand from painting 11 MDF doors, front and back, brilliant white, means you’re still more than half right.
